History

The Sandhills Healthcare Executives Forum (SHEF) was formed in 1989 in Fayetteville, North Carolina.   This local professional chapter affiliated with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) as a “Healthcare Executive Group” to serve its membership through a collegial environment.  The focus of the affiliated chapter was to meet six times per year in order to share professional experiences,  to present pertinent healthcare topics, and to support those professional values affirmed by the American College of Healthcare Executives.

In 2004, the SHEF was designated as a provisional chapter of of ACHE.  This new status recognized the ACHE’s focus to working more closely with its chapters to support its members.   This designated status brought several benefits to the chapter members through assistance in areas like professional education, marketing,  membership growth, and this web site.

On March 1, 2007, the SHEF was approved for fully chartered chapter status of the ACHE.  Fully chartered status demonstrates that SHEF met the ACHE criteria for chapter status that form the foundation for successful leadership, membership involvement, and valuable member services.

I hope that you will come join us at our next meeting.
